I’m a broken record on this but…
If anyone is looking for a slippery slope, HERE IT IS. One of the two national political parties in the USA doesn’t believe that most of the country has a right to bodily autonomy.
The GOP cannot lean further right.
I can’t.
Scalia doesn’t think the 14th applies to women and/or LGBT individuals. These wazzocks want to give equal protection to a clump of cells.
Let me say this more clearly:
THE GOP BELIEVES THAT A FERTILIZED EGG IS MORE OF A PERSON THAN THE PERSON THAT FERTILIZED EGG EXISTS INSIDE.
Are there anti-choice asshats in the Democratic party? Yup. There are. But there are far fewer of them and THEY DON’T RUN THE SHOW.
It’s that simple. All politicians are suspect, but this party’s agenda is based on telling anyone with a uterus that they are nothing more than a container for fertilization and LGBT people that they are subhuman.
That, making rich people richer, allowing corporations who are already taking our tax dollars in subsidies the ability to do things like eliminate the minimum wage, and letting wall street play russian roulette with the economy again.
You may not agree with the left, but how can anyone agree with the right when they have gone so far around the bend that its candidates do not have any compunction about saying they believe you’re not a person or that there is are things like, “Legitimate,” rape.
Most of the people I know who describe themselves as conservative are not on board with this, but I don’t know if they disagree enough to either stay home or vote outside of the party.
