So (deep breath, kiddo, deep breath,) I am typing this on my new laptop. My old laptop died in May. Well, what it did was pretty much go into a complete coma. Since then, I’ve been fudging my life with a smartphone.
Surprisingly, I decided that if I couldn’t be screwing around on the internet or writing, I might as well go to the movies.
I went to the movies a lot. I have a frakkin’ composition book filled with my thoughts about this summer’s movie smorgasboard. I went to the movies with my friend Katie, I went to the movies alone. I have never gone to the movies like this, although I did spend a lot of time in cinema as a kid.
The Avengers, ( and I will eventually post a more complete review/analysis) was my default happy place this summer. I went to see it in cinema 8 times. For a few hours, I got to surrender myself to magic, wonder and the idea of heroism.
(And here is where I tear up, because it does matter. In real life, the idea of heroism matters.)
I am typing this on a slightly more compact keyboard than I’m used to, but I finally have the means to put my thoughts somewhere than physical paper without going cross-eyed from the extreme tinyfont of the phone.
Also: DVD SOONSOONSOON.
Happy Saturday, people of tumblr. I am content for this brief moment, with the stress of the broken laptop removed from my life. This is an excellent thing. :D
