One: The Hill-Burton act, if she’s treated as an emergent case, it can be invoked through the hospital’s social services department.
Two: Medi-cal, if it’s like most states, will cover retroactively for care within 90 days of application.
Three: Much as I hate to say it, but, at 24 declaring bankruptcy sucks, but can be done.
Four: A non-profit hospital has certain rules about what can be turned over to collection.
Five: and this is actually the most important thing, if she’s in medical crisis, get her to a hospital. End of.
