Big Oil, Big Mess
I’m not gonna give y’all a million links to the devastation in the Gulf. Why? Because I get the feeling that most of the population is hitting a point where the information is becoming white noise. How many pictures of pelicans and sea turtles covered in oil do we need? These species that are already at a precarious point, could be further decimated, but what does that mean to us?

Slowly clearing the mind and heart of traps
“The undertow is always there, waiting to snatch us out of the ether/We can choose to drown, or choose to be stronger swimmers.” -Me, on twitter.
Almost a month. 3 weeks and change. Change, what a concept. I’ve begun reinventing my life. I’m getting back to what I want, what I need. Re-evaluating it, making different decisions. I’ve been out with friends more in...
Memorial Day
So, this weekend marks the, “unofficial start of summer.” Okay, whatever. We lose the meaning, don’t we? Columbus Day, Veterans’ Day, Independence Day…we either don’t know or don’t care, or maybe have just been beaten senseless by the marketing teams in the retail industry.
Memorial Day, Remembrance Day - This is when we honor our war dead....

“I took more hell for being fat than I did for being an absolute raging drug addict. I will never understand that. Now I’ve actually read in some magazines that I’m too skinny. You can never ever ever win.”

Another Quick Post
I went to see SATC2 with my friend Katie. Is it high art? No. Is it textbook feminism? No.
Guess what - there’s no such thing as a textbook feminist, not really. Feminism comes in different shapes, sizes, aesthetics, economic strata and opinion. In a post this morning, I covered my feelings on the uber-judgmental sort of feminism that drives me crazy. I also covered my feelings on SATC as...
Quick Post: Sex and The City 2 +Feminism =?
It’s not getting great reviews, I’m aware of this. Yet, I’m still going to see it today, with my friend Katie. You may ask, “Why?” My answer is simple: Because we’re fabulous.
I am not a fashionista, I’m not a trend-slave and I’m certainly not financially able to indulge in the kinds of conspicuous consumption the intrepid SATC foursome engages...

Do you have any scars on your body? If so, how'd...
I have chicken pox scars, scars from cat scratches, and yes, even acne scars. I’ve also got two tiny scars on my left foot from the first time I broke it and they had to put subcutaneous pins in to stabilize it.

What was the best job you've ever had?
My current job. While it’s incredibly challenging, and occasionally nigh on impossible - I’m making a difference in the world.

The last word on the subject - blog
Yes, I’m sad. Yes, I’m angry. But…Is this really worth an additional investment of my heart and energy? No. I’ll burn it all out in art. If I can make it something meaningful instead of tawdry, sleazy and stupid, then it’s like a little less of me was stolen. When people you love lie to you, they’re stealing from you. Stealing your love, stealing your choices,...
Mourning Songs - Poem
Wrung out like a filthy sponge
Soaked in hand-me-down emotions
Lies and deceptions once
Unexpected
Now make wariness seem
Something like normal
Consequences
Expected
As words tumble
Decisions and history
Colliding
Truth
Knives sunk between ribs and shoulder blades
Breathe shallow through the pain
Weep as the sky cracks open at 3 am.
I believed
Once
I believed words breathed...
