My mom worked the graveyard shift when I was little, so my Nonna would stay over with me. She would sleep in my bedroom and tell me stories about growing up during the Great Depression. I remember falling asleep at night with her stroking my hair and feeling completely safe.

What is your hidden talent?
Hmm…I can tie a cherry stem in a knot with my tongue, I can do the lipstick cleavage thing from Breakfast Club, I don’t know that I have a hidden talent so much as party tricks. I’m very good at grasping languages, at least in written form, without studying them.

I want to be remembered as someone who did their damndest to leave the world a better place. Whether through art, activism, compassion or any other behavior or character quality. I will not go quietly amongst injustice, stupidity, brutality and blithely turn away.
